What are web beacons or pixels?

Web beacons, also known as clear GIFs or single-pixel GIFs, are small image files that we may provide to our advertiser and publisher clients, at their request, for them to place on their web pages.  Working in conjunction with cookies, web beacons allow us to accurately count the number of unique users who have visited our advertisers’ or publishers’ web page, and/or viewed an advertisement and the number of times those ads are displayed.  Our advertiser clients may also request a web beacon to place on their web page in order to identify a pool of users, using information related to you, who have visited their web page so that they may target ads to those users about the advertiser’s products/services based the visitor’s prior interest in those products/services.  This information is only collected in aggregate form and will not be linked by Videology to any personally information.  Additionally, our third-party advertisers may use web beacons in their advertisements. Finally, we may use web beacons in the advertisements we serve in conjunction with third party services we provide to our clients, such as measurement and analytics service providers that provide reporting on an advertising campaign’s effectiveness.
